"As a member of the judges panel at the 2012 ICM Awards along with keyboard ace Jimmy Nichols and others, I was blown away by one contestant, a lanky young man with a resonant voice named Hunter Cook. When he opened his mouth to sing I looked over at the other judges and they had the same sense of wonderment on their faces. We knew we had our winner. When Hunter confidently stepped off the stage and began singing to audience members I knew he had the intangible X factor.
